Marcelo sustained a muscle injury just 14 minutes into Real Madrid's clash with Betis. The Brazilian looked to be in serious discomfort and had to be stretchered off the field of play just three days ahead of the Champions League meeting with Borussia Dortmund.
The full-back sustained the blow when attempting to clear a ball out of defence, seemingly tweaking something at the back of his left leg. The Brazilian was left prone on the ground, grimacing with pain.
The Real Madrid doctors ran the rule over the Brazilian on the pitch and immediately signalled for a substitution and called for the stretcher. Raphaël Varane came on in his place
