FORMER BALLON D'OR LUIS SUÁREZ BACKS THE WELSHMAN FOR REAL

When Spain's only ever Ballon d'Or winner asks a question, if one does not know the answer, one should at least listen. "Is it true that Real Madrid is going to sign Bale?", asks Luis Suárez, as if it were the most normal question in the world.
"He's good, very good. Real Madrid would take an important step up in quality with both Bale and Cristiano in the side. The two of them together could tear defences to pieces! I have no doubt that after Messi and Cristiano, he is the most interesting player out there right now. Plus he's 23 years old..." said the former manager, national coach and current presidential advisor at Inter.
"I'd heard about him, but I really discovered him three seasons ago, when his Tottenham side played my Inter side in the Champions League. We won the home leg 4-3 at the San Siro, but he scored a hat-trick, despite facing Maicon. He went past him with such ease", he said.
"He started out as a left-back and now he's playing as a second striker. He can play wherever you put him: On the right, through the middle, on the left. He always heads straight to the opposition’s goal. I've seen him take free-kicks, and he's like Cristiano", said Suárez.
"I know my president well and if he could, he'd sign him for Inter. But he's very expensive, isn't he? €60 - €65m... That's plain crazy! Aren't we all going a bit crazy? How can Modric cost €45m...!? Of course, I'd pay €60m for Bale before paying €40-€45m for Neymar", he concluded.
