ENGLISH REF GETS ON WELL WITH PORTUGUESE TRIO

José Mourinho has welcomed the appointment of Howard Webb to oversee the second leg between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, as he has a friendly relationship with the Englishman. The pair's paths have crossed on numerous occasions and they have a good understanding.
Indeed, during one match, Webb even joked with Mourinho that he should be careful with his comments from the dugout, because some fellow referee friends from Mou's homeland had taught him to swear in Portuguese. Rest assured, the tone of the conversation was completely amicable.
Webb also gets on well with CR7, of whom he is a big fan, once stating that it is "an honour and a source of pride" for an official to have the chance to be on the pitch with "top players like Cristiano Ronaldo".
The Englishman has also previously reserved words of praise for Pepe, following Portugal's Euro 2012 qualifying playoff in Bosnia. Having been warned to keep a close eye on the centre-back because of his aggressive style, Webb congratulated the Real Madrid defender for his impeccable behaviour on the pitch and for confounding his critics.
