ASKS MEMBERS TO GET BEHIND THE CLUB

The Ramón Mendoza Real Madrid Supporters Club held an event during Florentino Pérez was anointed 'universal president' and Pepe was named an honorary member.
At the ceremony, the Real Madrid supremo discussed the challenges facing the club: "We've inherited a massive legacy and it is our duty to maintain and improve it. We've only made it this far by sticking together. You mustn't forget that. We can argue amongst ourselves, but unity is the way forward".
Florentino drummed this message home to the club members: "Criticism spurs us on to even greater things, but we members are the only ones who can steer this club in the right direction. Remembering that will give us the strength to push on".
The club president looked ahead to a potentially glorious end to the season: "Everyone wants to have a say at Real Madrid. The pressure is constant and you have to be able to cope with it. We have to channel it towards improving and try not to let it come between us. It's going to be an incredible month ahead: this is our third straight Champions League semi-final, which is our rightful place, and our second cup final [in three years]".
Pérez also sought to reassure the club's members about Cristiano Ronaldo's future.
