Khedira: The team "was in a very bad state"

Sami Khedira appeared in a press conference today, Wednesday, and admitted that the team has changed as a result of a talk between the players and coaching staff: "We were in a very bad state, but we've all talked things out and realised that things weren't going well. Now we're on the right path."
"When the results don't come, you need to talk. We've looked at what we were doing wrong and we've worked hard over the past few weeks to correct it. If we carry on this way, we'll get good results from now on," added the German midfielder, who mentioned the points which needed to be corrected.
"We had to be more compact, especially in defence, because we were conceding easy goals. Also, the other day we had some real bite with Özil, Di María and Cristiano. We've put what the coach has told us into practice. Now we're playing well; our commitment is improving the team. Maybe there were players who weren't at their best level."
Sami was delighted with his current turn of form: "I'm at the top of my game at the moment. The most important thing for me is that the coach and my teammates are happy with me. I'm surprised that the press are speaking well of me and are being nice."
As for the cup game against Valencia, he thinks it best to forget about the 2-0 win in the first leg, which was "a good and comfortable result, but by no means secure".
As for the possible semi-final draw, he said, "At the moment we're not really interested in whether it's Málaga or Barça. First, we have to get through this round. There'll be time to talk about that if we do."
