RONALDO, ÖZIL AND BENZEMA SHARPEN THEIR CLAWS

Cristiano Ronaldo, Mesut Özil and Karim Benzema offered more than enough firepower to beat Betis. The Frenchman scored one and set up another, the German struck twice once again, and the Portuguese star played a part in the second and third goals.
Betis manager Pepe Mel wasn't much amused when a journalist asked him about his team's failure to make any inroads in the Bernabéu against a Real Madrid lacking its full armoury. "All this stuff about line-ups depends on how you look at it. A team that includes Ronaldo, Benzema and Özil is one hell of a team," he said.
The 'Three Musketeers' were all involved in the three goals their team scored, whether it was to stick the knife in or make their opponents dizzy by running rings around them. On top of that, Benzema found his muse and beat Adrián at the near post. Özil's opener was a very similar finish, following a perfect one-two with the Frenchman. The German fooled the keeper by making out to shoot for the far post, before slipping the ball in where there seemed to be less space.
The only turn-up for the books was that Cristiano Ronaldo didn't score. Although Real Madrid's breaking its goalscoring dependency on the Portuguese player isn't such a bad thing at all. And all things considered, Ronaldo had a great game. Not only did he supply Benzema with the pass that led to the Frenchman scoring the second, but he was also the creator of the third, which was scored by none other than Özil himself.
